Gently soften the shallots and garlic in the oil,add the tomatoes add one can of water. Season with salt and pepper ,bring to boil then reduce heat and simmer,add the herbs and paprika to taste.
Shred the cabbage finely ,add to pan,simmer until cabbage is tender.
Add the beans,warm through.Check and adjust seasoning. Serve with toasted Italian or other white bread. Drizzle a little olive oil over soup. Tastes even better the next day.Add a little cayenne pepper for extra heat and flavour
