Step:

  1. Place potatoes, carrots and celery into the insert of your slow cooker. In a large pan, brown the meat on all sides. Transfer me to the crockpot

  2. In the same pan, sauté the onion until tender. Add garlic: cook 1 minute longer. Combine the flour, sugar, brown sugar, seasonings, orange peel and cocoa. Stir in tomato sauce; add to the pan and heat through and pour over the beef.

  3. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until the beef and vegetables are tender


Ingredients

  1. 2 medium-sized sweet potatoes, cubed
  2. 2 large carrots sliced
  3. 1/4 cup chopped celery
  4. 2 1/2 pounds beef chuck roast (boneless)
  5. 1 tablespoon on oil-rape seed canola etc
  6. 1 large onion, chopped
  7. 2 garlic cloves, minced
  8. 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  9. 1 tablespoon sugar
  10. 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  11. 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  12. 3/4 teaspoons salt
  13. 3/4 teaspoons ground coriander
  14. 1 teaspoon chili powder-or to taste
  15. 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
  16. 1/8 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  17. quarter teaspoon grated orange peel-omit if you don't like orange peel
  18. 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  19. 115 ounce canned tomato sauce
